At XM2, we consistently use the DJI High-Bright Antenna Extension Cables — enabling antennas to be positioned high on a C-stand, clear of the busy humans working below.
As you may know, video transmission signals don’t penetrate human flesh and bone well (at all) — so whenever someone or something stands between the transmitter and receiver, the link quality can drop noticeably.
For years, we’ve manually screwed in and out four individual antenna extensions on the monitor — a time-consuming, fiddly, and frustrating process.
Time on set is valuable.
This quick-release antenna upgrade eliminates the monotony of screwing and unscrewing antennas, allowing fast connect/disconnect via robust quick-release couplings and mounting brackets.
A snappy press of the two levers pops the bracket off with ease, allowing pack-down to happen instantly — saving those precious minutes when the crew is ready to roll.
And yes — you can use these with stubby, patch, or extension antennas.
We know what you’re thinking: “Will the extra connections reduce signal strength or video quality?”
The answer: No — not in any meaningful way.
These high-frequency QMA connectors are 50 Ω, rated to 6 GHz, and tested to have less than 0.5 dB total loss — effectively negligible for DJI’s 2.4 / 5.8 GHz video systems. The result is rock-solid performance with the convenience of a true quick-release workflow.
