Enhance your piloting with the ALTA X HD FPV System.

This upgrade transmits real-time status messages from the ALTA X flight controller through high-definition video to your HD FPV goggles or field monitor. The ever-improving HD FPV signal provides low-latency, sharp, and stable video, removing the graininess often seen in analog systems.

The ALTA X HD FPV system wirelessly transmits critical flight telemetry, including battery voltage, heading, and ground speed, via Status Messages to a compatible 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz receiver or monitor. Compatible with the DJI O3 Air Unit, Walksnail Avatar HD Pro V2, and other digital video systems with Canvas Mode and an MSP display port.

Additional PWM Outputs: Alta X Retractable Landing Gear Upgrade

The system includes three user-configurable PWM outputs integrated into the Brain Bay, offering versatile control options. We recommend connecting XM2's Retractable Landing Gear for the ALTA X to one of these PWM outputs. This setup enhances safety by allowing the Brain Bay to manage the landing gear’s functionality. Specifically, it prevents the Alta X landing gear from retracting while the drone is on the ground and enables the legs automatically lower during auto landings.

ALTA X HD FPV Camera Bay

The ALTA X HD FPV Camera Bay securely manages your HD FPV video transmitter and camera, enabling stable camera footage and active cooling for the device. You can adjust and lock the camera angle before takeoff. The design allows for easy installation of your camera and transmitter, and it fits directly into Bay 1 at the front of the ALTA X aircraft. It’s also been designed to be compatible with future digital VTX FPV camera systems.

ALTA X Brain Bay

The ALTA X Brain Bay serves as the core component of the HD FPV ecosystem, housing our MAVTx operating system developed by XM2 Labs. MAVTx facilitates seamless communication among the ALTA X flight controller, the Brain Bay, and the HD FPV Camera bay, granting users full access and control of the Digital OSD. Additionally, the Brain Bay features three user-configurable PWM outputs, seamlessly integrated for enhanced payload control options.

Wirelessly transmit and receive high-definition video and essential flight telemetry: such as battery voltage, heading, and ground speed between the Alta X and compatible 2.4 GHz - 5.8 GHz transmitter / receiver.

ALTA X HD FPV System Power Compatibility (tested)

  • 12V DC to DC Regulator for Alta (recommended)
  • Alternatively, connect the Brain Bay Power Input Cable (XT60 or XT30) to a 7.4V - 25.2V power source. Plug the JST-PH 2-pin connector into the Brain Bay power input.

Warning: The Brain Bay must be powered by a 2S-6S power source (7.4V - 25.2V). Connecting the Brain Bay to ALTA X flight packs will cause permanent damage to both the Brain Bay and HD VTX.

Available in Two Versions

  1. BYO (Build Your Own): Users provide and install their own Digital HD FPV Camera kit. This option offers flexibility for users who prefer to customize their setup. Includes install kits for Caddx Walksnail Avatar HD Pro (Dual Antennas) and DJI 04 Air Unit.
    Best for experienced installers who already own a compatible digital VTX.

  2. XM2-Installed Version: XM2 provides and installs the camera system. This version includes professional installation and ensures optimal performance. Includes install additional kits for Caddx Walksnail Avatar HD Pro V2 (Dual Antennas) and DJI 04 Air Unit.

Purpose-built software that delivers real-time flight telemetry directly into your HD FPV feed — improving situational awareness and operational safety.

  • Full OSD support for HD FPV DJI O4, Walksnail Avatar HD Pro, Canvas Mode, and other MSP display port digital video systems.
  • Captures MAVLink telemetry data from the ALTA X flight controller and instantly transmits it to your HD OSD in real-time.
