Download and activate
- Download the APK from your digital delivery email and copy it to the pilot’s DJI RC Plus.
- Install and open Reel Engine. Note the four-character device code shown in the app.
- Open the XM2 activation portal. Enter your order number and purchase email, then request your email verification code.
- Enter the fresh verification code and your controller’s device code to obtain your activation key. Type that key into the app and tap Activate.
- Complete the app’s setup checklist and perform a ground test before use on a job.
The email verification code lasts 15 minutes. Your controller activation key does not expire. Keep the key for your records. A factory reset changes the device code; contact sales@xm2.com for a reissue.
Compatibility and practical limits
Designed for the pilot’s DJI RC Plus with Inspire 3. Not designed for the camera operator’s secondary (slave) controller. This is independent XM2 software, not a DJI product. It uses screen recordings and cached proxies, not the original camera files, and is not a backup of your aircraft footage.
Android requires approval for screen capture after each boot. Review automatic sync and adjust it manually when needed. Re-test after controller software updates. Recording and rendering use controller resources; stop the app if your controller behaves unexpectedly.
Local phone transfer uses your own network. Posting to social media is a separate step.
